Virginia Mae Grady

Virginia Mae Grady, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on January 8, 2026.

Virginia was born in Munfordville, Kentucky, to the late Clifford and Lucille Rucker.

She is survived by her brother, George Rucker, and her sister, Dorothy Crain. Virginia is also survived by her children, Deborah Davis, Jeff Gardner, Greg Gardner, and Melissa Gardner. She was blessed with grandchildren, Dana, Michael, and Courtney, as well as great-grandchildren, Sydney and Ethan.

Virginia was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Downs.

Virginia loved gardening and had a passion for reading and learning. A cancer survivor, she devoted her time to sewing scarves for cancer patients at local hospitals. She enjoyed collecting figurines and was a devoted animal lover.

Graveside services will take place at Louisville Memorial Gardens East on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

The family requests that donations be made in Virginia’s honor to Palliative Care at Baptist East Hospital, in appreciation for the compassionate care they provided.
