Sharon Gayle Prince

Sharon Gayle Prince, 79, of Prospect, Kentucky, passed away on July 2, 2026.

Sharon was born on July 14, 1946, to the late Kenneth and Vertie Pratt.

She is survived by her nephews, Kenneth Warner and David Pratt (Carol); her niece, Paula Pratt; her stepson, Randy Prince (Lisa); her sister-in-law, Patsy Pratt; and her two beloved grandchildren, Blake Prince and Madison Prince.

Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Robert Prince.

Sharon worked at Churchill Downs for many years, beginning around 1982. To her, Churchill Downs was much more than a workplace, it was a family. She and her husband shared a love of horse racing and enjoyed traveling together to horse and dog racing events throughout the years.

Sharon will be remembered for the friendships she built, the love she shared with her family, and the many wonderful memories she created throughout her life.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.

Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Louisville Memorial Gardens East, with Joey Hightower officiating.
