Sarah Newcom

Sarah Newcom, of Crestwood, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 18, 1949, to the late Thomas and Chloe Smith, Sarah lived a life filled with love, joy, and cherished moments with those closest to her.

Sarah is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Newcom, who was the love of her life. Together, they built a beautiful family. She leaves behind her children, Richard Newcom (Jane), Keith Newcom (Jenny), Michael Newcom, and Brandon Newcom. Sarah was also blessed with many grandchildren, whom she adored and loved spending time with.

Throughout her career, Sarah worked as a bookkeeper, a role she enjoyed and excelled at. However, her true happiness came when she became a homemaker, dedicating her time to nurturing her family and creating lasting memories. She was known fondly as the "Gadget Lady," always on the hunt for the best deals at the dollar store, Big Lots, or anywhere her keen eye for savings could take her. Her family admired her sharp financial sense and playful spirit.

Sarah found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a deep love for flowers, particularly in the spring and summer, and enjoyed the thrill of visiting casinos and playing lottery tickets—often proving to be quite lucky.

Visitation will take place at Louisville Memorial Gardens East on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm.

Sarah will be remembered for her warm heart, vibrant spirit, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy of joy, laughter, and cherished memories will live on through those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
