Robert Allen Larberg St. Clair was born to Mary Henrietta Larberg St. Clair in La Grange Kentucky on Feb. 3, 1936 and an unknown father. His mother later married Sherman St. Clair. He was baptized at a young age in the DeHaven Baptist Church where his mother and his grandmother Mary Henrietta Larberg attended. He entered the Marine Corps at the age of 16 after his mother signed for him. He fought in the Korean War and was at Midway. After his two tours of duty, he found himself playing in a backup band for Willie, Waylon, and George at the Palomino Club in California. Music was a big part of who he was and his guitar was his best friend. Truck driving kept his interest after that time where he drove coast to coast seeing the country he loved and fought for. He settled in LaGrange in his later years to be near his beloved family. As an amputee, he was wheelchair bound most of the time and would focus his remaining life on his dogs, feeding the squirrels, and cooking. He loved to cook for his children and grandchildren, those who came to see him at Thanksgiving each year. He leaves his five children behind to remember him: Lynda, Roberta, Bobby, Lisa and Leona; his sister Martha Webb, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family and his caregiver/companion Rose. He passed away on May 4, 2025 in the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville with his daughter Lynda St. Clair Arnett and granddaughter Stephanie Seth at his side. He was not alone and knew he was loved. His daughter requests no flowers. Memorials may be given to the charity of your choice such as the Highpoint Charitable Services in LaGrange. Cremation has taken place and a memorial will be at a later time this summer.
