Robert Omer Burch Jr.

Robert Omer Burch Jr, 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on July 28, 2023.  He was born on September 30, 1941, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Preceding Robert in death was his loving wife of 62 years; his parents; 2 granddaughters; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Left to cherish the memories of Roberts life are his children, Gina Ferguson (Fred) of Crestwood, Kentucky, Rob Burch (Chrissy) of Tampa, Florida, Donna Mechels (John) of Louisville, Kentucky, Randy Burch (Stephanie) of Louisville, Kentucky, and Lynn Overton (Jason) of Osceola, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Victoria Lawson (John), Michael Phillips (Samantha), Ashley Burch, Ryan Burch (Jennifer), Kelsi Burch, Dustin Hall (Courtney), Josh Hall (Heather), Erin Burch, Lauren Gibson (Eric), Leah Burch (Fiancé Aaron), Luke Burch, Landon Burch, Robert Rison (Alex), Chad Rison (Bryana), and Garrett Overton (Tara); his precious greatgrandchildren, Gage, Gavin, Kenadi, Raegan, Barron, Peyton, Morgan, Kaleb, Ava, Camryn, Kali, Dillon, Derrick, Gannon, Colton, Makenzie, Logan, Jackson, Collin, Barrett, Anniston, Jayda, Gabriel and Gracelynn; three of his brothers; one sister; along with lots of additional family and friends.

Robert and Norma were married on July 4, 1960 and are members of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.

Robert was a devoted husband and father.  He loved each of his children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren fiercely.  He was affectionately known as Papaw.  Robert was a kind and selfless man and a jack of all trades.  He loved the beach and will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially on family trips.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday August 5th, from ­­­­10:00am until 1:00pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East, 11601 Ballardsville Road, for friends and family to share memories of Robert’s life.
