Murphy Rose Gathje, of Louisville, Kentucky, was born and went to be with Jesus on April 22, 2026.
Murphy is survived by her loving parents, James Robert and Carly Morgan Gathje, and her siblings, Oliver Scott and Gemma Louise, who love her dearly.
She is also survived by her grandparents, Laurie Alane Griesel, Scott Michael Gathje, and Chandra Stephanie Gathje; her aunts and uncles, Ryan Gathje (Chinami) and Justin Griesel; along with many other family members and friends who loved her deeply.
Our sweet daughter, we miss you with every fiber of our beings. We hope that you know that you are loved beyond measure. The only comfort we have is knowing that you are held in the hands of our Lord in complete peace. We know we will meet you again someday in heaven.
The first song played after Murphy was born included these words: "You’re still just as good as when I met You, you’re still just as kind—don’t let me forget that You’re still the same God who led me through the fire. You’re still the same God that separates the waters. Come do what only You can do. God, I need You.”These are the words her family will hold onto as they walk through this grief.
Her family finds comfort in the words of Jesus: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
They also rest in the promise of Isaiah 40:28–31.
We hope that you know and remember our love for you. We will remember you forever. We know that Jesus holds you now, and in Him and in us, you have everlasting love.
The family request that donations be made to Post partum support international in the memory of Murphy Rose.
