Mary Lois Gill, 92, of Crestwood, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 21, 1932, in Marion County, Kentucky, to the late John Kobert Corbett and Mary Ruth Corbett, Lois lived a life devoted to her family, faith, and community.
Lois is survived by her cherished children: Doug Rogers (Linda), Ivan Rogers (Laurie), and her daughter-in-law, Belinda Rogers. She was the proud grandmother of eight beautiful grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, and she leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Her sister, Jeannine Warren (John), and her husband, Bill Gill, and his family.
Lois is reunited in heaven with her first husband, Charles N. Rogers, her son, Lawrence Rogers, her siblings, Dorothy Mae Mudd (Tom), Nannie Rose Hill (Jesse), Bernie Hagan (Carl), and Kenny Corbett (Barbara).
A nurturing soul, Lois found joy in the company of her family and friends. She loved cooking and baking sweets, always eager to provide meals and create warmth for those she held dear. Children held a special place in Lois's heart, leading her to spend time working at a daycare, where she lovingly cared for little ones.
Known as a wonderful host, Lois loved gathering friends and family in her home. She was proud to be part of the Mustang Club, sharing her passion with fellow enthusiasts. In her later years, she enjoyed arts and crafts, bingo, and solving word puzzles, always keeping her mind sharp and creative. Lois was a natural storyteller, and her family cherished the vibrant stories she shared.
A devout Catholic, Lois was a member of Saint Aloysius Catholic Church she was also a member of Saint James Episcopal Church in Pewee Valley, where she drew strength and guidance from her faith.
Visitation will be held at Louisville Memorial Gardens East on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm, with burial to take place afterward.
In honor of Lois's memory, the family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
Lois will be remembered for her kind heart, her love of family, and the beautiful memories she created for all who knew her. Her legacy of love will continue to live on through her family and friends.
