Judy Elaine Bray, 57 of Oldham County, was called home at 5:10 pm on January 26th after an arduous battle with an illness following a stroke. Judy was born on September 5, 1967, in Amherst, Ohio, and graduated from Lorain High School in 1986. Judy was a dedicated wife and stay-at-home mother to whom nothing meant more than her family. Though Judy struggled with infertility and was not able to have children of her own, she created a family with her husband of 28 years and a host of children that the two of them took in and raised alongside her husband’s daughters from his first marriage. Judy was a woman who valued love over all else, she never had “stepchildren” or “foster children.” She didn’t believe in qualifying the love she felt for her family. She was a person who never met a stranger, and who found a friend in everyone she met. Judy had a love of art and spent a lot of her time crafting with a particular interest in painting, though nothing was more important to her than spending time with her husband, who was the love of her life. Judy’s loss is profound, she was the glue that bound her family together and her absence is deeply felt. Judy is preceded in death by her grandparents Emma and Jacob Schmitz, mother, Mary Katheryn Arce, her father Elias Lowe, Aunts Jackie, Bernice, Claire, Dorothy, and Emma, her Uncle Jacob, and her cousin Carol Perry, who was like a sister to her. She is survived by her loving husband Douglas Edward Bray, and their 10 children: Tammy Akers (Danny), Melissa Dunbar (Adam), Jessica Gonzalez, Donald Krage II, Cristina Krage (James), Jeremy Krage, Joshua Krage, Steven Zmich (Katie), Morgan Bray, and Katelynn Bray, as well as her grandchildren: Lacie Akers, Haley Akers, Molly Akers, Mark Papp Jr., Antonio Gonzalez, Jose Gonzales (Eric), Joseph Gonzalez, and Hayden Krage. She is also survived by her siblings Charles Conley Lowe (Jackie), Emma Louise Blankenship, Jacob John Lowe (Debbie), and Margaret Sue Oliver (Phil), as well as a whole host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.Visitation will be held at Louisville Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home on Friday, January 31st from 3-7 pm and Saturday, February 1st from 10-1 pm, with service to follow at 1 pm.
