Joseph William Alsup

Joseph William Alsup, 79, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on March 23, 2026.

Joseph was born on March 29, 1946, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to the late Joseph and Mary Alsup.

He is survived by his wife, Gay Wood Alsup, and his three daughters: Nikki Patterson, Mandy Hollister (Rian), and Katie Massey (Dale). He is also survived by his beloved best friend, his dachshund, Charley.

Joseph was blessed with many grandchildren: Kaleb Patterson, Kenliann Patterson, Kameron Patterson, Noah Hollister, Brody Hollister, Jett Hollister, Jack Massey, and Lily Massey. He is also survived by his sisters, Joyce Lee and Jewell Faye, and his brothers, Roy and Larry.

Joseph worked for 35 years at Texas Gas, He proudly served in the United States Navy.

He loved golfing, classic cars, attending car shows, and he had a collection of collectible cars. Joseph was a dedicated soccer coach for many years and enjoyed coaching his daughters when they played. He especially loved watching his grandchildren play sports.

Joseph attended Owensboro High School, Class of 1964, and later attended Brescia University.

A memorial service for Joseph will be held at a later date.
