Louisville

Genevieve “Jenny” Benton, 80, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on August 5, 1946, in Cody, Kentucky, the daughter of Thomas and Molly Caudill.

Jenny was a loving wife, mother, Mamaw, and friend. She was a woman who loved deeply and showed that love through her actions more than her words. She was a little stubborn, outspoken, and opinionated, never afraid to speak her mind, but she also had a forgiving heart and never held a grudge. She had a sweet soul and would do anything for anyone in need.

Jenny was a natural caregiver who spent her life taking care of others. Whether she was caring for her own children or helping care for her students as a teacher’s aide, she led by example and found meaning in helping those around her. She was always there for her family and friends, yet she never wanted anyone to make a fuss over her. Her greatest joy came from knowing the people she loved were cared for and happy.

One of Jenny’s favorite things was spending time with her family, especially at the lake, where she enjoyed creating memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful Mamaw, and in her eyes, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren could do no wrong. She treasured every moment with them and left them with countless memories that will be cherished for generations.

In her spare time, Jenny enjoyed cooking, fishing, quilting from time to time, completing puzzles, and listening to her favorite music, especially Elvis and Conway Twitty. She found joy in the simple things—good food, good music, time with family, and making memories with the people she loved.

Jenny’s life was a testament to the power of love expressed through kindness, service, and devotion to family. She will be remembered for her strong personality, generous heart, sweet soul, and the countless ways she cared for those around her.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends and in the many lives she touched throughout her life.

Jenny is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Caudill and Molly Corrine Hemphill Caudill.

Left to cherish her memory, Jenny is survived by the love of her life, Edward “Glenn” Benton; daughters, Lynn Benton-Kinser, Becky Benton-Welch (Gary), and Michelle Benton-Bell (John); grandchildren, Nick Kinser (Emily), Michael Kinser (Catherine), Dustin Benton, Danial Benton (Lauren), Devin Aubrey (Brook), Caitlyn Loetz (Cody), Logan Welch (Alicia), Sarah Heath (Tray), Cassie Bell (Dylan), and John Bell (Alyson); great-grandchildren, Colton, William, Theodore, Hank, Ella, Dutton, Dawson, Daxton, Caydenn, MaKynleigh, Wolf, Drew, Remington, John Thomas, and Baby Murphy; and best friends, Rose Vittitoe and Margaret Sue Nichols.
