Christine Sadonia Steinmetz, 91, of Louisville, Kentucky, died May 6, 2026, after living a beautiful life full of love and care for those closest to her.
Christine was born on Dec. 5, 1934. Her husband, Kenneth, preceded her in death.
The most cherished part of her life was her family, especially her two sons, who cared for her through life’s hardships.
She is survived by her sons, Steve Steinmetz (Mary Jo) and Phil Steinmetz (Callista); grandchildren, Joanie Kemp (Marty), Stephanie Adams, Kaitlin Allen (Travis), Paul Ables, Amy Steinmetz and Phillip Steinmetz.
Christine was blessed with great-grandchildren, Hope Ray (Kyle), Luke Murphy, Nick Murphy, Jesse Adams, Conner Adams and Eddie Allen. She also was loved by her two great-great-grandchildren, Ellyanna Ray and Emmylynn Ray.
Christine had a special talent for playing the piano. She always had a piano in her home and loved showing others how to play. The piano sat in the living room as a constant reminder of her passion for music. In her free time, she also enjoyed drawing characters.
Family was at the center of Christine’s life, and her home was a gathering place for holidays and cherished memories. This included countless hours spent cooking for family gatherings, holidays and meals shared around the table with her grandchildren as they grew up.
Christine was an important person to a lot of people. She had a warm and caring heart and always stayed true to herself and her beliefs.
Her impact on the lives of others will forever be felt, even in her passing.
Visitation will be held at Louisville Memorial Gardens East on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service and burial will follow.
