Cathy H. Disney

Cathy H. Disney, 76, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on May 19, 2026.

Cathy was born on May 20, 1949, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Garland Thomas and Lillian Lee Hoard.

Cathy is survived by her sister, Karen Barber; her nieces, Natalie Simms (Chad) and Hilary Halstead (Chris); her son, Jeff Disney; and her daughter, Jennifer Russell (Chris).

She was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren who were the joy of her life: Madelyn Long, Lilly Disney, Ashley Russell, and Jared Russell.

Cathy was preceded in death by her sister, Dr. Diane Hoard.

Cathy loved spending time with her family and was a devoted University of Louisville fan. She enjoyed going on walks, painting, coloring, and had a deep love for arts and crafts. During her grandchildren’s younger years, she loved teaching them how to sew and creating special memories together.

Cathy was a proud Christian and faithful member of New Life Church, where her faith remained an important part of her life. She was also a proud American. Cathy was known for her selfless heart and always putting others before herself. Her kindness and care for those around her touched many lives.

She treasured her family prayer group text chain and enjoyed taking photographs of the beauty around her, especially the sun, birds, and flowers.

The family asks that, in Cathy’s honor, donations be made to the American Cancer Society in remembrance of Cathy’s family members.

Visitation will be held at Louisville Memorial Gardens East on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Additional visitation will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
