Carol Ann Stewart

     Carol A. Stewart passed away unexpectedly on July 14, 2025 in Louisville Kentucky after a short illness. She was born in Dillon Montana on January 10, 1940 to parents Cecil and Agnes Smith. Carol graduated from Powell County High School, Deer Lodge Montana, in 1958. She enlisted in the U. S. Navy after high school and served in the nursing corps at several locations in the eastern United States. After leaving military service, Carol was employed, primarily in the healthcare industry, and lived in numerous locations throughout the United States and overseas, finally moving to Louisville Kentucky in 2005.
     Carol was preceded in death by her husband Dean M Stewart and her parents. She is survived by her children: son- Ronald Chernak (Hermitage Tennessee), daughter-Cheryl (Darren)Akers and son- Greg Chernak, both residents of Louisville. Carol is also survived by family members including her brother-Robert (Marsha) Smith, sister - Cecilia(Ron) Moore, sister- Dona(Norman) Shepherd and brother -Jack Smith. Additionally, she is survived by 2 grandsons - Derek and Michael Crabtree as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Carol loved both cats and dogs; she is also survived by her loyal companion, her beagle Maizy.
