Betty Hale

Betty Hale, 82, of LaGrange, Kentucky, passed away on May 11, 2026.

Betty was born on November 17, 1943, to the late Charlie and Cinda Laferty.

Betty is survived by her beloved husband, Jack Layne Hale; her daughter, Lora Holly (Mike); and her brother, Charles Laferty.

She was blessed with many grandchildren: Brooke Dixon (Cody), Jessica Smith (Korbin), Whitney Neel (Dylan), Nicholas Holly, Ashley Lyons (Tim), and Haylie Voyles (Blake). Betty was also blessed with several great-grandchildren: Brody, Claire, Emmett, Maverick, Josie, Lora, Ava, Archer, and Peyton, along with Baby Neel and Baby Voyles, both expected in 2026.

Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Sue Thomas, and her beloved dogs, Tiger, Bubba, Rascal, and Mopsy.

During her life, Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, caring for animals, gardening, and cooking. She especially loved riding around with her husband, Jack, looking for deer and sightseeing together. Betty was a wonderful storyteller to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved flowers and was a devoted UofL basketball fan. Betty was also a faithful member of Worthington Church of Christ.

The family asks that, in honor of Betty’s life, donations be made to Worthington Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held at Louisville Memorial Gardens East on May 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m., with burial immediately afterward at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
